Hey y'all,
So Wednesday we went to the stake center to have our district meeting and the edlers said that someone broke into the church. we thought it was april fools joke... NOPE!! It was really broken into! SAD DAY! They broke all the locked doors and closest in the entire building including to the baptismal font! Ether they saw the handle off or they used a hammer or a crobar. Then they pulled stuff out of the places and trashed it all over the floor especially in the bishops and clerks offices and the family history center. They took the candy from all those places including they nursery treats! Nothing is sacred after that! They broke a window to get in, they stole toilet paper, soap and tried to take 2 big speakers a grill and water bottles. sad day! the seminary students found them, they came early in the morning and the stuff was on they side walk and the lights were on. So they went in and came face to face with one of them. So we spent the day cleaning the dust from finger printing and organizing the mess they made. For my year mark, it was an interesting day.
Happy Easter! I hope ya'll had a great week end! I know I did. Wasn't general conference fantastic!? It is hard for me to pick a favorite talk because they all had something that really helped me. I really liked the one by Elder Brent H. Nielson Of the Seventy. He said
"When the lost one is your son or your daughter, your brother or your sister, and he or she has chosen to leave, we learned in our family that, after all we can do, we love that person with all of our hearts and we watch, we pray, and we wait for the Lord’s hand to be revealed. … May you and I receive the revelation to know how to best approach those in our lives who are lost and, when necessary, to have the patience and love of our Father in Heaven and His Son, Jesus Christ, as we love, watch, and wait for the prodigal."
I like this one because I thought of one of our investigators Bro Nielsen is really progressing. He was able to watch the Sunday morning session of conference with us at a members home. He's the only one in his family that's learning. It's great that we can watch pray and wait for the blessings to come. I also like it because how he applied it to himself in the talk. How he is the same as his sister in coming back to Christ. I think that is so true and I never thought about that story in that way before. I now can apply it to myself in a different way.
One of our investigators came to the Saturday morning session. He thought it was cool that we have apostles here on the earth today just like in the bible. It was interesting that people apposed. It reminds me of the scriptures in Jacob chapter 7 it starts in vs 8 Jacob asks Sherem about Christ and then if he reads the scriptures. Sherem says yes he reads them. Jacob tells him that he doesn't understand them. I'm not sure they understand ether. We can watch, pray, and wait!
I'm so grateful for General Conference for the chance we have to listen to the Prophet and his apostles. For the chance I have to sustain them not just by raising my hand but by my actions as well. By doing my best to follow the savior and do what he would if he were here. I've been so blessed to serve a mission here in Georgia around so many wonderful people. I've learned so much, I strive to serve in a way that Heavenly Father would be pleased with what I've done to help hasten the work. Thanks for all your love and support.
